Produced by Domaine Le Réviseur in Claix, France, this expression is a single-estate cognac sourced exclusively from the house's 90-hectare estate in the Petite Champagne subregion. Managed by the Abécassis family, every stage of production (from vine cultivation and fermentation to distillation in small traditional copper pot stills and aging in French oak casks) occurs entirely on the estate. Aged for an average of 4 to 7 years in oak barrels, Le Réviseur VSOP highlights the characteristic floral freshness, structured elegance, and gentle fruit profile of Petite Champagne terroir.
Food Pairing: Soft cheeses like Brie or Camembert, roasted poultry, dried fruit platters, almond tarts, or enjoyed as a refined pre-dinner aperitif.
Tasting Notes: Bright golden-amber with warm topaz reflections, displaying medium body and clean, graceful legs along the glass.
Nose: Fresh, floral, and expressive, opening with white peach, dried apricot, and blossom, followed by soft vanilla, toasted almond, and subtle oak spice.
Palate: Well-rounded and smooth on the palate, featuring sweet stone fruit, honeyed plum, and candied citrus peel upfront before evolving into soft wood tannins, licorice, and gentle nutmeg.
Finish: Medium-to-long, clean, and balanced with lingering notes of sweet orchard fruit, light wood spice, and subtle floral warmth.
Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature, over ice, or as an elevated base in classic spirit-forward cocktails like the Sidecar or French 75.
