Crafted in Germany, this expressive Riesling is produced in the Rheinhessen region, an area celebrated for its diverse soils and high-quality white wines. The brand is part of the Citizen Wine portfolio, a producer founded with a vision to merge traditional winemaking with modern ingenuity and a commitment to sustainability. Its playful name, 'Sumo Cat', symbolizes a unique harmony of characteristics—the mighty power and strength of the sumo paired with the nimble freshness and agility of a cat.
Wine Description
This Halbtrocken (off-dry) Riesling presents a bright and playful sensory profile with a pale straw colour. The nose is greeted by an aromatic bouquet of green apple, pear, and citrus blossom, intertwined with floral hints of jasmine and a subtle mineral edge. On the palate, the wine offers a luscious mouthfeel with dense flavours of ripe peach and apricot, balanced by a 'knife-edge' acidity that provides a crisp, refreshing finish. A delicate touch of honey and notes of pineapple add further complexity to its light-bodied structure. Composed of 100% Riesling, this wine is best enjoyed while young and fresh to fully appreciate its zesty lift.
